Tate & Lyle is partnering with Regrow Ag to help corn suppliers adopt sustainable farming practices that can help boost climate resilience

Tate & Lyle operates as a global ingredient solutions provider, specialising in healthier food and beverage products.

The company works to reduce its environmental footprint across its supply chain and operations, tackling challenges including climate change and water scarcity.

Tate & Lyle has joined forces with Regrow Ag, a provider of agriculture resilience platforms, to assist its French corn suppliers in implementing regenerative agriculture methods.

Tate & Lyle's farming initiative

The initiative is designed to help farmers understand the benefits of regenerative agricultural methods whilst assisting them in integrating these approaches into their daily operations.

Tate & Lyle sources corn from agricultural producers in France's northeast and southwest regions, which the business is helping to enhance climate resilience.

The company intends to encourage regenerative, restorative and protective methods amongst growers, including cover cropping, nitrogen management and low and no-till approaches.

These methods contribute to soil health, decrease reliance on synthetic fertilisers and limit soil disturbance, enhancing the sustainability of Tate & Lyle's operations and supply network.

Nick Hampton, Chief Executive at Tate & Lyle, says: "Regenerative agriculture is at the heart of our approach to sustainability, because helping farmers to become more resilient to the impacts of increasing climate change related events also enables our customers to feed a growing population – a win-win.

"For businesses in the food chain, flooding, droughts and severe temperatures that affect harvests and the use of natural resources are a shared challenge."

Agriculture Resilience Platform technology

Regrow Ag has developed its Agriculture Resilience Platform to help organisations protect their supply chains and lower emissions whilst encouraging regenerative agriculture.

The technology allows organisations and agricultural producers to measure, model and accelerate regenerative results throughout their global value chains.

Through the collaboration with Tate & Lyle, the platform will assist participating agricultural producers in recognising the value of implementing regenerative methods.

Tate & Lyle and its suppliers will utilise Regrow Ag's AI technology to assess environmental effects and track trends amongst crops, helping farmers with data interpretation and farm planning.

Anastasia Volkova, CEO and Co-Founder of Regrow Ag, says: "Tate & Lyle's leadership is helping accelerate the adoption of regenerative practices where it's needed most: in Europe's corn-growing regions.

"By pairing local agronomic expertise with credible, AI-powered measurement and monitoring, this programme is demonstrating how collaboration and data transparency can drive meaningful climate action across supply chains."

Expanding regenerative agriculture globally

The collaboration with Regrow Ag will enable Tate & Lyle to track the environmental effects of the farms it is working with throughout France.

These farms contribute thousands of acres of corn for Tate & Lyle, which is incorporated into numerous specialty ingredients for soups, bakery products, snacks and confectionery.

The French initiative expands upon Tate & Lyle's current regenerative agriculture programmes, which work with corn producers in the US and stevia producers in China.

"Through our more mature, science and tech-driven regenerative agriculture programmes in the US and China, we've demonstrated that these programmes can materially improve yield and crop quality for farmers and the businesses they supply," Nick says.

"This new programme in France is about supporting farmers and it also makes perfect business sense as it helps to make our supply chain more resilient."
