Revolutionising the Food and Drink Industry with AI Drones

Leading the charge in AI-mobile intelligence, Verity's full-autonomous drones are revolutionising operational oversight like never before.
From UPS to DSV, Maersk, On and KeHE, major industry names are experiencing the transformative benefits of Verity's cutting-edge solutions. The tech innovator has notably exceeded the 100-client milestone worldwide, including a new addition at a KeHE site in Portland, US, enhancing their vast food distribution network with state-of-the-art technology.
"Verity’s system is proven to deliver value across industries and geographies, from 3PLs to retailers and food and beverage distributors,” said Raffaello D'Andrea, CEO at Verity. “While mobile intelligence clearly generates value, making it work reliably – whether at a single site or at scale like Verity – is an immense challenge. Verity remains the only solution to fully unlock the potential of mobile intelligence, consistently driving unmatched results.”
Verity's spirited expansion in the Food sector
In less than four years, Verity has impressively expanded from a few sites to over 100, notably during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic. These accomplishments underscore a significant growth journey.
Verity's impact is evident across all client sites:
- Reducing inventory errors: Intelligent drone scans efficiently detect issues, preventing over 6,200 inventory inaccuracies per site annually.
- Cost Savings: Streamlined operations and error reduction translate into considerable financial savings.
- Boosted Productivity: Verity's workflow optimisation leads to operational efficiency, saving around 800,000 hours across client sites each year.
- Environmental Benefits: With an emphasis on sustainability, Verity's solutions save about 653 tonnes of CO2 emissions per site each year, akin to planting 25,000 trees.
DSV's inventory optimisation and KeHE's inventory management
As a leading global 3PL provider, managing over six million square metres of warehouse space, DSV benefits significantly from Verity’s AI-driven systems. Since its initial deployment in Denmark in 2021, DSV has expanded Verity’s technology across distribution centres in Europe and North America, enhancing inventory management in seven countries.
With Verity’s solutions, DSV can meet stringent service levels through accurate inventory data, reducing stock issues and ensuring prompt order fulfilment.
“We have a demanding client where there are certain types of orders, which they require us to deliver within one hour after the order has been dropped at our site,” said James Matthew Rosal, Senior Operations Manager at DSV. “Verity and its drones are helping us a lot to make sure inventory is available when we go to pick it.”
KeHE stands as North America's foremost distributor of organic and specialty foods, servicing over 31,000 stores and online retailers. Rolling out Verity's system since summer 2023, KeHE aims to streamline operations across its US distribution centres.
In environments where perishables must be managed efficiently, Verity's automated inventory solutions are critical for reducing profit loss due to misplaced stock.
“It’s paramount for us to have tight control of our inventory,” said Jesus Munoz, Director of Warehouse Automation at KeHE. “Inventory issues directly lead to a myriad of other issues. Thanks to Verity, we’ve made significant improvements in inventory accuracy and also enhanced our ability to serve customers better. This highlights KeHE’s commitment to staying at the cutting edge of warehouse technology.”
