These candies are deceptively simple in their designs—that simplicity belies precision and creative solutions to create and maintain their shapes. From extruders and water-lubricated precision blades to disappearing cornstarch molds, a lot goes into the process of automating the production of millions of chewy candies per day. But once those processes are perfected and set in motion, it’s fascinating to watch them in action.
