Gaucho Group has appointed a new chief executive to replace founder Zeev Godik. 

Oliver Meakin, the current boss of Maplin Electronics, will take the reins at the Argentine steak restaurant chain at the end of the month.

He has also spent time at both the supermarket Somerfield and steakhouse restaurant Miller & Carter, part of Mitchells & Butlers.

Meakin’s appointment follows the  Group’s expansion in the UK last year which has led to a portfolio of 16 Gaucho restaurants. 
 
In addition, the Group also operates restaurants in Amsterdam, Dubai, Hong Kong, and Argentina.
