Founded in 1958, the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) aims to unify bottles, distributors, and suppliers within the bottled water industry, promoting the industry’s interests in an effort to safety and availability throughout the industry worldwide. The IBWA achieves this goal by working with committees and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on devising rigorous standards for safety and quality beyond state and federal regulations.

The IBWA operates through a mission statement pledging “to serve the members and the public, by championing bottled water as an important choice for healthy hydration and lifestyle, and promoting an environmentally responsible and sustainable industry.” With more than 640 members representing bottled water-related companies of all sizes, the IBWA is a true cross-section of the industry.
